ㅤㅤoriginㅤㅤㅤㅤborn on december 13th in oppheim, norway, she was the daughter of iduna and klaus mercer and the older sister of vidar. even as a child, she was exceptionally sensitive to the world around her. she noticed how every snowflake was unique and would spend hours in the garden observing the plants and the birds coming and going. living surrounded by forests, she quickly learned to spot even the slightest changes in her environment. noticing these subtle changes awakened her hunting instincts: she is certainly hard to fool and wouldn't be led astray by just any random trail.ㅤㅤadulthoodㅤㅤㅤㅤlydia became a tracking specialist for search and rescue operations, focusing on the terrain and cases involving missing persons —— people who don't usually just vanish without a trace, or individuals who invariably leave some kind of trail behind.as an investigator, lydia began following paths she never should have stumbled upon. she gathered a web of threads that seemed only to grow more tangled and baffling with each new name. whenever she tried to pull at one of those threads, it seemed someone else had beaten her to it. she learned about the murkoff corporation piecemeal—a document vanishing from the archives, a witness disappearing under mysterious circumstances —— and no matter how hard she tried to track them down, even the hunter found herself at a dead end.
lydia did exactly what she had done all her life —— no matter how pointless the matter or how vague the evidence, she followed the trail. even if it was a fiction, she had to check it out.ㅤㅤmurkoff corporationㅤㅤㅤㅤover time, the precise circumstances of lydia’s capture faded from her memory, obscured by the very mechanism she had fought so consistently against all those years. her mind gradually returns to those events, though all she recalls is a turbulent journey, unfamiliar voices, bonds biting into her wrists, the smell of iron, and a white light that constantly impaired her vision.she noticed that her name had ceased to matter —— her past? it no longer existed —— or at least, that was what they tried to convince her of during her time there. now, she was merely a number: reagent 0080. murkoff expected the reagents to wander aimlessly: like children lost in the fog, fleeing their pursuers —— yet lydia consistently strove to learn and understand their operational patterns. time taught her to endure solitude: she always managed to help others or join forces with them. it was then that a resistance began to quietly take shape. murkoff had made a grave error: had gathered people in one place who could learn from one another, and lydia intended to capitalize on that. this conviction became the foundation of her leadership. she made no promises she couldn't keep: she knew not everyone would survive, yet she was determined to do everything in her power to save as many as possible.
